Specialisations: Sports & Exercise Medicine
Interests: Team physician work in athletics, football and rugby; musculoskeletal and orthopaedic emergencies; knee and shoulder injuries and emergency sports medicine.
Qualifications: MBChB (Stellenbosch), and is currently busy with his MPhil: Sports and Exercise Medicine at UCT, IRB World Rugby Level 2 &3 certificate.
Dr Raaghib Fredericks is currently the team physician for Boland Rugby first team and primary team physician for Cape Town City Football Club in the Premier Soccer League. In addition, he currently assists in the emergency center at Netcare hospital in Kuilsriver.
He is a keen runner having previously represented South Africa at the World Junior Championships for 800m and 4X400m relay in 2008 in Poland. Also still currently a senior provincial hockey player for Western Province and club hockey for Central hockey club’s 1st team in the Grand Challenge league.
